MOVIES AT GRANDMA'S HOUSE NEWSLETTER
Hello, Movie Lovers!
Welcome to this week's Movies at Grandmas House newsletter! We're back with the tenth edition of "Grandma's Archives" where we continue exploring the films from our podcast catalog that defined a generation of family entertainment.
This week, we're heading back to the playpen with the 1998 animated adventure, The Rugrats Movie. When Tommy Pickles gets a new baby brother named Dil, jealousy and sibling rivalry lead to an unexpected adventure. After a mishap with the Reptar Wagon, the babies find themselves lost in the woods, forcing Tommy to confront his conflicted feelings about his new brother while trying to keep everyone safe and find their way home.
We gave this one a solid 3 out of 5 stars. The Rugrats Movie successfully brings the beloved Nickelodeon series to the big screen with upgraded animation, higher stakes, and genuine emotional moments about family and responsibility. The voice cast brings their A-game, and when the film leans into the babies' perspective and imagination, it really works. However, it doesn't quite capture the fun of those first few seasons of the series. The pacing drags in spots, and stretching a Rugrats story to feature length exposes some limitations of the formula. The musical numbers feel out of place, and it makes you appreciate how well the series worked in its original 11-minute format. Still, it's enjoyable enough, especially for fans of the show who wanted to see their favorite babies on the big screen.
Plus, we've found some amazing deals on movie posters from MoviePoster.com, Amazon, and more—check them out!

“Honestly I didn’t care for this the first time viewing it. After another watch it grew on me though. I prefer the original TV series run but this is a fun time if you’re fan of the show."
