MOVIES AT GRANDMA'S HOUSE NEWSLETTER

Hello, Movie Lovers!

Welcome to this week's Movies at Grandmas House newsletter! We're back with the twenty-fifth edition of "Grandma's Archives" where we continue celebrating films from our podcast—and this week, we're suiting up with a superhero family that proves incredible runs in the genes.

This week, we're saving the world with the 2004 Pixar action-packed masterpiece, The Incredibles. Bob Parr, formerly the legendary superhero Mr. Incredible, has been forced into retirement along with all other "supers" and now works a soul-crushing insurance job. When he gets a mysterious offer to suit up again for a secret mission, he jumps at the chance to relive his glory days. But when Bob goes missing, his wife Helen (the former Elastigirl) and their super-powered kids Violet and Dash must come together as a family to rescue him—and save the world from the villainous Syndrome.

We gave this one a stellar 4 out of 5 stars! The Incredibles isn't just one of Pixar's best films—Isaac thinks this is one of the best superhero movies ever made, period. Brad Bird's masterpiece is both a superhero movie and a family drama that never shortchanges either. The action sequences are phenomenal, but they're matched by equally compelling character moments as every family member gets their time to shine. The animation is top-tier, the voice cast is perfect (especially Holly Hunter and Craig T. Nelson), and Michael Giacchino's jazzy score is iconic. It's funny, exciting, smart, and stylish, with themes about mediocrity, potential, and what we owe society that feel more relevant than ever. Peak Pixar superheroics!

Plus, we've found some amazing deals on movie posters from MoviePoster.com, Amazon, and more—check them out!

Isaac's Rating

Take It Home!

“This is one of the best superhero movies you’ll see. Not just being from Pixar but the story, characters and world is unique and pulls you in. Not to mention the action is top notch for an animated feature. Pixar didn’t have to go so hard on its first super hero movie, but here we are. Still holds up INCREDIBLY well ;)."

Seth's Rating

Take It Home!

“How do you keep a family close? Try being super heroes (just kidding). This movie packs a punch, it’s got action laughter and a lot of heart.”
