This week, we're exploring the jungles of Peru with the 2024 sequel, Paddington in Peru. Paddington finally gets to visit the land where it all began! The Brown family tags along for the adventure as Paddington embarks on a journey to find his Aunt Lucy. But when he gets caught up in a mystery involving a secret temple things get complicated. Antonio Banderas joins the cast, bringing undeniable charm and charisma to his role alongside the beloved Browns as they navigate the dangers of the Peruvian jungle together.
We gave this one a solid 4 out of 5 stars! There's nothing quite like seeing Paddington on the big screen, and Paddington in Peru reminded us why we love this franchise so much. Isaac and Seth both loved the charm that carried through from the previous films, and the landscapes are absolutely gorgeous—Peru's vibrant colors, lush jungles, and stunning temple ruins are rendered beautifully, giving the film a visual scope that feels bigger and more adventurous than the previous entries. Antonio Banderas slots in seamlessly alongside the established cast. It doesn't quite hit the heights of the first two films—the story feels a little thinner—but there's still plenty of warmth, humor, and heart to make this a genuinely fun theatrical experience. More Paddington is always a good thing!
