An American Tail: Fievel Goes West (1991)
We dive into "An American Tail: Fievel Goes West" (1991), the sequel to Don Bluth's beloved migration tale. The Mousekewitz family—facing the harsh reality that America has cats after all—heads to the frontier town of Green River seeking better opportunities. Young Fievel becomes separated from his family again and uncovers a sinister plot by the sophisticated villain Cat R. Waul, who plans to turn the town's mice into mouse burgers. With stunning animation, catchy songs, and the legendary sheriff Wylie Burp training the cowardly Tiger into a hero, this film captures the spirit of the Wild West through a mouse's eyes. But does it hold up against the original?
![]() | Isaac's Rating Take It Home! “The plot has issues and there are a few other flaws but the last 15-20 minutes are full of laughs, great animation and nostalgia. I had a great time revisiting this one. I’m taking Fievel home! " |
Seth's Rating Leave At Grandma’s “Overall it’s a good movie. In my honest opinion it didn’t hold up to what I remembered as a child. To me it wasn’t as strong on the rewatch.” | ![]() |
