MOVIES AT GRANDMA'S HOUSE NEWSLETTER

Hello, Movie Lovers!

Welcome to this week's Movies at Grandmas House newsletter! We're back with the twenty-third edition of "Grandma's Archives" where we continue highlighting films from our podcast—and this week, we brought a special guest along for the ride as we open the closet door to one of Pixar's most imaginative worlds.

This week, we're generating screams (and laughs) with the 2001 Pixar classic, Monsters, Inc. In the monster world, screams are power—literally. The city of Monstropolis runs on the energy generated when monsters sneak through closet doors to scare children.

Sulley, the top scarer at Monsters, Inc., and his best friend Mike Wazowski have their routine down to a science. But when a human child named Boo accidentally enters their world, everything changes. As Sulley bonds with the fearless little girl, he begins to question everything he's been taught—and uncovers a sinister conspiracy that threatens both worlds.

We gave this one an outstanding 4.5 out of 5 stars! For this special review, we were joined by GalagaGuy88, and all three of us loved this Pixar masterpiece. The premise is brilliant, the animation continues Pixar's tradition of technical excellence (Sulley's fur was a breakthrough), and John Goodman and Billy Crystal have perfect chemistry. Boo is adorable without being cloying, and Sulley's transformation from scared professional to protective father figure is genuinely moving.

The door chase sequence is creative action filmmaking at its finest, and Randy Newman's soundtrack perfectly captures both the comedic energy and emotional beats. Inventive, funny, and surprisingly emotional—one of Pixar's absolute best!

Plus, we've found some amazing deals on movie posters from MoviePoster.com, Amazon, and more—check them out!

Take It Home!

“Such a fun movie and a complex story, it is shockingly good. The only fault I find is the intense scenes.”
