MOVIES AT GRANDMA'S HOUSE NEWSLETTER
Hello, Movie Lovers!
Welcome to this week's Movies at Grandmas House newsletter! We're back with the thirty-fourth edition of "Grandma's Archives" where we continue exploring films from our podcast—and this week, we're suiting up with the ultimate misfits for some pee-wee football glory.
This week, we're going for the touchdown with the 1994 sports comedy, Little Giants. Danny O'Shea has always lived in the shadow of his brother Kevin, a former NFL star who now coaches the town's elite pee-wee football team. When Kevin cuts Danny's daughter Becky from the team simply for being a girl, Danny decides enough is enough. He forms his own team made up of all the misfits, rejects, and kids nobody wanted—the "Little Giants." Now this ragtag group of underdogs must train, bond, and prove they have what it takes to compete against the best, leading to an epic showdown between the two brothers and their teams.
We gave this one a solid 3.5 out of 5 stars! Little Giants is pure '90s underdog sports movie goodness—formulaic, predictable, and absolutely enjoyable. Yes, it's silly at times with broad comedy and walking stereotypes, but you can't help but enjoy the timeless underdog theme executed with genuine heart. Rick Moranis and Ed O'Neill are great as the battling brothers—Moranis brings his trademark everyman charm as the reluctant coach, while O'Neill adds just enough depth to avoid being a cartoon villain. The film has genuine warmth, likable kids, and a refreshing earnest approach to the sports movie formula. It doesn't try to reinvent the wheel—it just wants you to have a good time, and it succeeds. A fun, feel-good '90s classic!

Isaac's Rating
Watch it at Grandma’s
“Growing up I loved this movie, it seemed like I watched it anytime I could. I still really like it, and will enjoy revisiting soon. However I may have outgrown most of the fart jokes (as a father of all boys), they have since gone a little stale (no pun intended)."
Seth's Rating
Watch it at Grandma’s
“It's a strong film and I can't wait to watch it again but I wish they could’ve developed a few characters more, mostly Becky (Icebox) her dealing with playing with boys etc. Despite that I really like this one.”
