In Jamaica, talented sprinter Derice Bannock has trained his entire life to follow in his father's footsteps and compete in the Olympics. When a freak accident during the qualifying race destroys his chance to make the track team, Derice discovers that his father's old friend, American coach Irv Blitzer, once trained bobsledders.

Desperate to still reach the Olympics, Derice convinces the reluctant and disgraced Irv to help him form Jamaica's first bobsled team. He recruits his friend Sanka Coffie, a push-cart derby champion, along with two other mismatched runners from the failed qualifier—the arrogant sprinter Yul Brenner and the wealthy junior Bowman.

Despite having never seen snow, the four Jamaicans must learn to work as a team, overcome Irv's troubled past, face ridicule and skepticism from international competitors who see them as a joke, and prove they belong on the world stage at the Winter Olympics in Calgary.

Through grueling training, cultural clashes, and learning what it truly means to be a team, the unlikely crew transforms from laughingstocks into serious contenders who earn respect through their determination and heart.
