MOVIES AT GRANDMA'S HOUSE NEWSLETTER

Hello, Movie Lovers!

Welcome to this week's Movies at Grandmas House newsletter!

We're back with the fifty-third edition of "Grandma's Archives" where we continue exploring films from our podcast—and this week, we're revisiting a '90s summer camp comedy that unfortunately doesn't live up to its premise.

This week, we're attempting to create our own rules with the 1994 comedy, Camp Nowhere.

When a group of kids don't want to attend the boring summer camps their parents have chosen for them, they hatch an elaborate scheme to create their own fake camp with no rules, no supervision, and no parents.

They recruit a washed-up drama teacher played by Christopher Lloyd to pose as the camp director and convince their parents everything's on the up-and-up.

What should be hijinks-filled wish fulfillment becomes... well, something far less enjoyable.

We gave this one a disappointing 1.5 out of 5 stars.

Overall, there's nothing special about this one other than the occasional product placement that screams '90s nostalgia.

The writing is blah with flat jokes and one-dimensional characters, the pacing is off throughout with scenes that drag without payoffs, and there's awkward cringe content for kids that makes this a genuinely hard watch.

The biggest crime?

They completely wasted Christopher Lloyd's talent—he looks genuinely bored to be there, phoning it in with none of the manic energy he brought to better roles.

A forgettable misfire that doesn't earn its runtime.

Skip this one—your nostalgia deserves better.

Plus, we've found some amazing deals on movie posters from MoviePoster.com, Amazon, and more—check them out!

Isaac's Rating

Hide It In The Attic

“Honestly this is one of the worst movies we’ve covered. In a nutshell, it does not hold up and falls into the bad of what was the 90s. Might have a few funny parts, but overall there is too much adult themes and awkward scenes for me. Also, I enjoy Christopher Lloyd, but just not here."

Seth's Rating

Hide It In The Attic

“This movie had potential, but it really just went nowhere (literally). With some cringy scenes and bad dialog it just wasn’t a winner.”
